Families,
Only 2 weeks until we leave for break! I was so happy to make it to the music program and it definitely got me in the holiday spirit! These kids always blow me away and their performance was no exception :). We have a busy end of 2018 so take a peek at what’s to come:
Important Dates/Reminders:
- TODAY is the last day for the December Scholastic Book order…if you place an order and would like it to be a surprise please email me so I can set them aside for you! All orders need to be in by 4p.m. today (online using class code: NNX2P) to make sure they are here before we leave for break!
- Our next Early Release Day is Friday, December 14th. Dismissal will be at 12:15.
- Our tree is getting filled with ornaments! Please have your child decorate theirs and send it in if they have not already done so.
- We will be having a class gift exchange Thursday, December 20th. Please do not spend more than $5 on this gift. Girls can purchase a gift for girls and boys can purchase a gift for boys.
- Our class holiday party will be on Thursday, December 20th from 12:05-1:05. Feel free to join us as we celebrate!
- We will be having a school spirit week the week of December 17th. Monday = wear warm hats/scarves, Tuesday = wear red and white, Wednesday = flannel and fuzzy socks, Thursday = ugly Christmas sweaters, Friday = pjs! Mark your calendars as we get ready to celebrate the holiday season!
Reading: For reading we will continue to focus on characters and how we can reread to get to know our characters, identify how our characters changed or what they learned, and how to infer what is happening in a story.
Writing: For writing we will continue to focus on how to write our opinion in a letter to someone. We will also learn how to make a list of what we can write about, how to add words like “and” and “because,” and how to add a good closing.
Math: We will continue to explore groups of tens and ones and how we can add these together (40+7=47).
Spelling: We will have a spelling test and sentence dictation to finish our spelling unit.
