WEEK OF 12/3/18

Families,

We are in the final stretch of 2018 as we approach the month of December! This will be a busy month with many celebrations–take a peek at what is to come:

Important Dates/Reminders:

  • Alward’s Holiday Program will be on Tuesday, December 4th at 6:30. A red note went home with your child earlier this week with logistics and details. Please look over this before Tuesday!
  • A December Scholastic book order is coming home today. If you would like to purchase any books as a holiday gift, please do so by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7TH AT 4P.M. This gives you about a week; however, I want to ensure that these books arrive before we depart for our long break. If you would like the books to remain a surprise, please send me an email so I can set them aside and arrange a time to get them to you. As always, if you choose to order please use the online code: NNX2P.
  • Our next Early Release Day is Friday, December 14th. Students will be dismissed at 12:15p.m.
  • We will be having a class gift exchange on Thursday, December 20th (a red note will be coming home next week with more information). For those of you who are already in the shopping spirit, please do not spend over $5 and we are asking that boys buy a gift for a boy and girls buy a gift for a girl (but not a particular student).
  • Our Holiday party will be on Thursday, December 20th (details and time TBD).

Reading: In reading we will continue to focus on characters (this week is Little Critter) and how to identify character traits, use their facial expressions and body gestures to determine how they feel, and determine if we agree/disagree with their actions.

Writing: In writing we will continue to learn how to write our opinion and why we feel that way. We will take the steps to first organize our writing and then write it in letter form.

Math: In math we will continue to explore, compare, and build teen and decade numbers.

Spelling: Our spelling words this week are: his, with, at, they, come.

Have a great weekend!

Miss Reisdorff
